High-priced ace Zack Greinke was activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
The right-hander missed more than a month due to an oblique injury. He is slated to start Tuesday’s contest against the New York Mets.
Greinke, who signed a six-year, $206.5 million deal with Arizona in the offseason, is 10-3 with a 3.62 ERA.
Greinke was injured while batting against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 28. He was placed on the DL on July 3.
Greinke has won seven straight decisions to overcome a slow start. He had a 5.26 ERA after eight starts.
The Diamondbacks optioned right-hander Evan Marshall to Triple-A Reno to open up a roster spot.
